A company grows and a void begins to grow between its teams. The need for explanatory documentation and specifications grows at the same rate. Spending time building specs or spending time improving the product: which will add more value?

The answer isn't to do away with documentation, but to rethink it. Is documentation a constant conversation? Remember, lean doesn't happen from the ground up. The culture of the company must support the sort of information flow that supplants the need for overwhelming documentation.
